Nextage research activities are headed towards two main objectives:
- the perspective of the personalized medicine concept. The company envisions a new concept of medicine, designed and developed around the individual
- the supporting technologies, for huge data acquisition, storage and computing
Research projects are thus directed to address challenges in genomic data analysis, in data integration techniques and enabling tools, such as distributed data and computing infrastructures and novel architectures for data management and Cloud.
Funded R&D Initiatives
- 2011: Grant received (FP7 – REA) in partnership with Aitek S.p.A (Genoa), Barcelona Media and Nova Ventus from Barcelona and Observit and Istituto Superior Tecnico from Lisbon. DICORE2S project. Nextage will perform research in the field of high performance and cloud ready data store and analysis tools.
- 2011: Grant received (Liguria regional funding – POR 2011) in partnership with Noemalife S.p.A and Infinity Technology Solutions S.p.A.. Nextage is in charge of providing an high speed data store and retrieve solution.
- 2010: Grant received (Liguria regional funding – POR 2009) in partnership with Esaote S.p.A and Camelot S.r.l.
Medical imaging. Nextage is in charge of providing the high speed image processing architecture. - 2010: Grant received (Industria 2015 “Made in Italy”) in partnership with both academic and industrial partners.
Nextage will participate in the design of a technological platform supporting personalized medicine applications.
Research partnerships
We have a strong relationship with the University of Genoa (Biolab – Laboratory for Bioimages and Bioengineering) and National Research Council (Institute of Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies).
